This year the seasons changed faster than my moods had time to swing, so I'm hoping to see the light she saw in me. So I told her I missed her when I was wasted. Tried to give her guitar back but she wouldn't take it. Now I'm left to decide how it really feels inside. Doesn't leave much room for compromise.

Can't stop thinking about playing baseball as a kid. The way the hot chocolate tasted at the Rubber Bowl and how it went away so quick. But it did. We are all Windemere Stars, struggling to find out where we are. And now I'm left, stuck in the middle of the central interchange with no direction.

Why do I want the tide to constantly stay high?
Is that a metaphor for my old friends?
Drift away, like everything set out to the sea.
I know they're out there on the open.
Fell asleep with the lights on again.
I don't know when you left here, but you left behind all your friends.
You used to collect shark teeth from the shore.
A pile of clothes lays on my floor,
With ripped up pockets, holes and stains.
The smell of your shirt will start to fade.
You started collecting broken bones,
No wonder you feel like you can't find a home.
I've got a collection of my own,
Made up of everyone you've ever known.
Why do I want the tide to constantly stay high?
Is that a metaphor for my old friends?
Drift away, like everything set out to the sea.
I know they're out there on the open.
Where'd those shark teeth go?
Guess I'll never know.
Where'd those shark teeth go?
Guess I'll never
No, you don't need to come back,
I've been standing here for years.
And I can't just retract,
Your words are swollen in my ears.
So I made a compilation
Of the best bands I know.
And if it's any consolation,
They don't remind me of you.

You flew away from us for the warmth of the sun and to comfort a lonely pocketbook. Leaving me to sweep the floors of everything I thought was love. And I never left, you can come back if you want to. I can feel it in my chest, that I know you won't.
